The Wildfire Recovery website is part of an ongoing, collaborative effort within WSU Extension involving the Division of Governmental Studies and Services (DGSS), and WSU Office of Emergency Management. This website provides a broad range of information and resources that offer guidance from regional and national wildfire specialists. The site is organized into various topic areas such as wildfire preparedness, government agency resources, and many others. Please see the list of topics on the left side of the screen to find information that is pertinent to you. The two documents linked below provide a good place to start to learn about the effects of wildfires on the environment and society:
Background on the Wildfire Recovery website
After the extensive wildfires of 2015, researchers from WSU Extensions’ Division of Governmental Studies and Services saw the opportunity to aid communities in preparing for and recovering from the effects of wildfires. In short, DGSS wanted to contribute to the short and long-term recovery of Washington’s communities, businesses, and families. The Wildfire Recovery website is the result.
